The pandemic's accelerated transition toward a more virtual society served as the inspiration for our idea for Mozverse. Education, healthcare, and entertainment are among the most popular business categories that have been forced to adapt to a virtual environment. Business meetings have been replaced by Zoom conferences, grocery shopping has been replaced by services like Instacart, and dining out has been replaced by Ubereats and similar services. Less obviously, virtual currencies like bitcoin and ethereum have grown in popularity. NFTs had significant growth in the recent year, surpassing $13 billion in sales volume. Every day, the world becomes increasingly virtual. 30 million people spent nine minutes fully immersed in the Travis Scott X Fortnite virtual concert event in April 2020. A year later, Roblox, a game in which users can create and share virtual world experiences, had over 200 million monthly active users. Up to $100MM in NFT virtual land sales were transacted in a 7-day period at the end of November 2021. The announcement by Facebook, the world's largest social network, that they are changing their name to Meta confirmed Mozverse's progress over the last year and a half and that all roads lead to the metaverse.
Danny Mozlin first dabbled in augmented and virtual reality over 20 years ago. His early experiments with VR and AR included using one of the first VR headsets, the virtual boy, and experimenting with augmenting reality by inserting digital objects into real-time video feeds. Danny has been involved in the cryptocurrency sector for almost a decade and a half, including creating specialized hardware for early bitcoin mining.
